Dieter Weber, Accountancy of a Zoroastrian Craftsman in Early Islamic Times (662—664 CE)

The document presented here for the first time belongs to the so-called "Pahlavi Archive" preserved in the Bancroft Library, Berkeley, CA, as no. 231. This unique document sheds light on economic life in Iran of early Islamic times in the form of a kind of register of income and investments listing the complete property of a Zoroastrian carpenter, probably recorded for taxation purposes, for the years 662/664 CE.
