The Bactrian document edited here, which was written in A.D. 662/663 in
Gozgan, is an “undertaking to keep the peace,” intended to bring to an
end a quarrel between two families. In addition to the Bactrian text
and English translation, the article contains a brief commentary on
some points of historical or linguistic interest.
